Chartered Accountancy is considered as the one of the toughest professional courses but for Ramakumar Raman, the things were different. Ramakumar cleared all the 14 papers of CA course in his first attempt, but the fact that makes him special is that he is just 18 years of age and now he is the youngest chartered accountant in the world.
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the global professional accounting body of GULF has acknowledged him as the youngest CA in the world. Ramakumar is a student of Indian High School Dubai.
Ramakumar started his coaching in September 2012 and he gave his examination in June 2015. He told Khaleej Times about his studying time-table, “I would have lunch and sleep till 4pm and get up again and start studying again from 4:30pm till 8:15 again with breaks after which I’d have dinner and study again from 9pm till 12pm. Then I’d go to sleep.”
Ramakumar also feels that his superstition helped a lot in making this achievement. From December 2012 till June 2015, before every exam of ACCA he wore same pair of shirt, vests, socks, shoes and pants and he ate the same type of rice and curry.
His future plan is to go for MBA in USA and make a career in Investment Banking.
